The lonely man sat quietly at the table,
All of his remaining chips in front of him.
A last bet,
A desperate gamble.
He took a deep breath and looked one last time at his cards.
There was an ace.

The dealer announced to the crowd.
He leaned over, passed over a pile of chips, and smiled.
“Congratulations!”
“Yeah…” The man sighed as he collected his winnings.
